But what do we call the Trocadero located in the 16th district ? It is an architectural complex in the style of the 30s with the Trocadero Palace built for the Universal Exhibition of 1878 then dismantled 57 years later. It was replaced by the Palais de Chaillot. The Trocadero overlooks the Seine and faces the Eiffel Tower. A superb complex (of 55 000 m2) which houses the Trocadero gardens, the esplanade of Trocadéro, the National Theatre of Chaillot, the National Maritime Museum.. This neighborhood is home to the Aquarium of Paris. To have a drink or a meal, the Trocadero café is a typical Parisian brasserie. The district is served by the Trocadero metro which is located place du Trocadero
