One of the most beautiful districts of Paris ♡ ♡ ♡

The Marais district is one of the oldest districts in Paris. It’s one of our favorite neighborhoods. It is culturally very rich: there are many museums, superb private mansions (the Hôtel de Soubise, the Hôtel des Ambassadeurs d’Hollande, the Hôtel de Sully, the Hôtel de Marle, the Hôtel Salé, etc.). It’s a very lively area with nice shops, lots of restaurants. The Place des Vosges is one of the most beautiful squares in Paris.

Our restaurant addresses in the Marais

You will be spoilt for choice, there are many restaurants in this area. Here are some addresses that we like and that we recommend: the Loir in the Teapot rue des Rosiers (for brunch, lunch and snack). Their cakes are delicious (the memorable lemon pie!), the atmosphere very relaxed. More chic and more expensive too, the Carette tea room, Place des Vosges (one of the prettiest tea rooms in Paris). Everything is good, from sweet to savory! When the weather is nice, we really like the small restaurant of the Swedish Institute. It’s very simple, not very expensive and quiet in the superb courtyard of the Hôtel de Marle. If you like oriental cuisine (Israeli in this case), we are a fan of Tavlin !

In the upper part of the Marais – The Breitz Café, one of the best creperies in Paris at 109 rue Vielle-du-Temple. The red children’s market (one of the oldest markets in Paris), rue de Bretagne, street food set up in the market. It’s cheap, it’s good and it’s user-friendly! We order in one of the market shacks and we sit down to eat on the go before going back to visit the neighborhood or go shopping. Attention, closed in the evening.
