The Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris

chimère en haut de Notre Dame
  • It is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, emblematic of the early Gothic period
  • Built in the 12th century, Notre-Dame de Paris is one of the most visited monuments of Paris. It is almost as iconic as the Eiffel Tower
  • Notre-Dame is not the largest cathedral in France, but it remains very imposing with its 130 meters long, 48 meters wide, 69 meters high for towers and 96 meters for the spire.
  • From the outside, she's just perfect!
  • We admire its Gothic facade, its sculpted portals, its grimacing gargoyles and all the statues that adorn its facade
  • The interior of the cathedral is equally majestic
  • 10 spans for the Nave and 5 for the choir, and a roof height of 43 meters.

  • The visit of Ile de la Cité (guided or free) is of course a must. Historic seat of the royal power of France, the Ile de la Cité has remained architecturally preserved and retains a romantic side with its quays along the Seine
