"Depending on whether you're powerful or miserable"

The Marriage of Figaro is a comedy of intrigue and manners. It is a classic of French literaturewhere the comedy of repetition takes us into Figaro's "crazy day" as he prepares to get married. Love, marriage and power struggles are the themes that drive the plot of this play we love!

  • The story takes place in Count Almaviva's castle, where Figaro, the valet, is organizing the preparations for his marriage to Suzanne, the countess's maid...
  • But Count Almaviva doesn't see it that way; he, too, has designs on Susanna ... and tries to hinder their marriage.
  • All the codes of comedy are used by the characters to foil the Count's plans...
  • Deceit, disguise, and witty dialogue blend skilfully with a social critique of the nobility and the relationship between masters and servants.
  • Directed by Florence Le Corre and Philippe Person, and performed by the Collectif La Folle journée, this play is a beautiful classic where thewe laugh a lot at the human comedy!
  • ... and Figaro is the most reasonable!

The play by the students of the Théâtre du Lucernaire was a bomb of energy and modernity, and they served Beaumarchais's magnificent language very well.

We left Montpellier and don't regret our trip to Paris. The choice of actors for their respective roles was very pertinent. The actor in the lead role was extraordinary, fully embracing his character. A must-see for the whole family.
