The concept of the Musical Fountains Show
During the Musical Fountains Show of Versailles, the groves and ponds of the park of the Palace of Versailles are exceptionally staged for the public.
The groves (small enclosed spaces hidden in the heart of the park and usually closed to the public) then became accessible to all.
The pools are filled with water, all to the rhythm of baroque music (music by Lully and Rameau in particular).
At the time of the Musical Fountains Show, you can walk among the park’s 15 groves , its 55 fountains and ponds and its hundreds of statues
The groves in the park are decorated with fountains, vases and statues. They are accessed through discreet alleys and they bring surprise and fantasy to the interior of the Royal Garden
True open-air salons, they once welcomed Louis XIV and his court for entertainment, listening to music or dancing.
Tips with children
- Favor mornings
- Bring good shoes and water
