"Metamorphoses", the exhibition that explores the phenomenon of transformation through science and imagination!

"Metamorphoses is an exhibition that encourages children to develop their curiosity through the theme of transformation and modification presented from several angles. By putting them on the trail of questioning and interrogation, la cité des sciences introduces youngsters to the scientific process or the imaginary and the marvellous are given pride of place

  • After "Fragile (2022-2023 ) and "Banquet"(2021-2022), the Cité des Sciences et de L'industrie continues its exhibitions for 6-11 year-olds
  • With "Métamorphoses" children explore the world of mutation through five themes:
    • The first theme is that of of "the marvellous forest".... where mysteries and magic come to life through tales and stories ... Children question the metamorphosis of insects and plants hidden in the forest, real or imaginary ...
    • "My beautiful mirror will give children the opportunity to explore their self-image, whether it's the one they dream of or the one they perceive. But also to question the future through magic mirrors, invisible truths or to see themselves grow and change.
    • "The World of Shadows is a staging that guides youngsters through the differences between human beings. Emotions, changes of our moods are shadows that cannot be graspedA great shadow theater allows children to play scare tactics by modifying its projection
    • The "Thousand and One Looks" space opens a reflection on the perception of what we see and feel in the real world. Imagine yourself as Alice in Wonderland. How do we see the world, as small as an ant or as big as a giant? To understand that we don't all see the same things...
    • And finally, with the evocation of "The funfair ends the tour of this beautiful exhibition. The funfair is a place where science and fantasy meet and mingle magicians, scientists and physicists, chemists and artists! All transformations are brought together in this exciting encounter where science is part of the show!
