"Si Versailles m'était conté" (private tour)

The noble floor of the château, the royal chapel, the Grands Appartements and the famous Galerie des Glaces are just some of the wonders you'll visit on this guided tour.

The tour guide will take you through the day of a king, rythmated by the servitudes of etiquette that Louis XIV had put in place to make the nobility docile.

Versailles and its château are the undisputed symbol of the French monarchy. The King Louis XIV wished to make a place of splendor and festivities to entertain his courtiers, launched from 1668 great works to enlarge the castle built by his father Louis XIII.

The Sun King's successors continued to embellish the palace. During the French Revolution, the Château de Versailles was plundered and stripped of its paintings, furniture and knick-knacks. Versailles became a political capital from 1682 to 1789.

We loved our visit and our guide was super nice and very interesting. The fact that we had her personal mobile number came in very handy! Highly recommendable, especially for a first visit to the château with children/teenagers...
