"The Game of Love and Chance: a timeless classic!

  • It's with this play that "Marivaudage" really comes into its own!
  • Le jeu de l'amour et du hasard is the classic play, written in 1730 by Marivaux. In it, he tackles the theme of youthful feeling and revolt
  • Revisited in a Pop Rock version, the staging of this play is very modern and up-to-date.
  • Are feelings always real? How strong are the bonds of love?
  • This is what Dorante and Silvia will each try to find out by having their servants replace them when they first meet...
  • So they disguised themselves in their servants' clothes, young people observe each other without knowing that both played the same stratagem
  • The strength of the actors and Frédéric Cherboeuf's direction passionately immerse us in the irresistible world of feelings and the search for truth

Star Star Star Star Star - A very pleasant show
Written by denis roger-machart, on 23-04-2024

Marivaux's text, the joyful, generous staging and, last but not least, the prodigious energy of all six actors gave great pleasure to my 12-year-old grandson, who correctly understood the situations and their twists and turns, and to me... Taboos have been tackled without complexes but with modesty and laughter for 300 years.

It was very easy to book this play, which I chose to introduce my 12-year-old daughter to this art form. I loved the staging and the acting. What energy! On the other hand, I think my daughter was a little young to understand this game of misunderstandings, but I'm satisfied because we had a good time. I think she'll remember it!

We were able to accompany our 16-year-old daughter and introduce her to this play, which she enjoyed thanks to its modernized staging. The reservation and access to the theater went smoothly. We recommend this play and the Théatre Le Lucernaire!
