Oskar Kokoschka, the 1st retrospective in Paris

Finally a retrospective of Oskar Kokoschka (1886-1980) in Paris! The great Austrian painter, committed artist and major figure of European art of the early twentieth century.

  • The exhibition is dense
  • It allows us to embrace all of Kokoschka's work, from his most popular period (around the 1930s) to his late works (mid-1970s)
  • It is an unclassifiable painter to discover, but it is rather an exhibition for teenagers

  • Baby visit (0-8 months) :
    • Dates: Wednesday, October 12, January 11 - 3pm
    • A gentle visit and a special welcome for babies and their parents to contemplate the works of Oskar Kokoschka. While walking through the exhibition, yoga and Wutao exercises invite to relax and unwind. At the end of the visit, sitting on mats, parents participate in the creation of a souvenir object that they can then take home.

  • From 1 to 3 years :

    • The discovery of the characters painted by Kokoschka will encourage the little ones to easily express their emotions. In the workshop, the modeling of an expressive face in clay will extend this encounter.

  • From 3 years old : "Dans le vif du sujet
    • Dates: Sunday, October 16, November 27, January 22 - 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm
    • A journey to meet the multiple faces represented by the artist Oskar Kokoschka.
    • Young and old alike observe the dense material, the spontaneous and rhythmic style of execution and then create a colorful and highly emotional portrait.
  • From 3 years old : "Plongée sur la ville
    • Dates: Sunday, November 13, December 11, February 5 - 2:00 pm, 3:30 pm
    • Oskar Kokoschka makes portraits of cities that he embraces with his deep gaze: London, Prague, Florence, Lyon, Monte Carlo...
    • Like the artist, young and old alike stage aerial views of the sea, the city or nature, using collage, folding and assembly techniques.

  • Visits-animations for 4-6 years old : In the skin of an animal
    • Dates: Wednesday, October 5, November 16, December 7, January 18, February 1 - 2:30 pm
    • Saturday, November 19, December 10, January 21, February 4 - 11am
    • October 26, November 4, December 22 and 29 - 11am
    • After the visit, the children will make a mask so that they can slip into the skin of an animal of their choice.
  • Visits-animations for 4-6 years old : In the table
    • Dates: Wednesday, October 19, November 23, December 14, January 4, February 8- 2:30 p.m.
    • Saturday, November 26, January 7, February 11 - 11am
    • November 3, December 23 and 30 - 11am
    • After the visit, the children draw an urban landscape that they assemble in the form of a pop-up.

  • Ages 7 to 10 - In your skin
    • Dates: Saturday, November 19, December 10, January 21, February 4 - 2:30 pm
    • School vacations October 26, November 4, December 22 and 29 - 2pm
    • Kokoschka's powerful, colorful and wildly expressionistic portraits are the starting point for the creation of a grimacing, disturbing mask, a reflection of intense and personal emotions.
  • Ages 7 to 10 - Upstairs
    • Dates: Saturday, November 26, January 7, February 11 - 2:30 pm
    • School vacations November 3, December 23 and 30 - 2pm
    • In the workshop, the children translate their singular and personal vision of a city through collage and folding in order to give it a dizzying point of view.
