Illuminations, shows, animations to celebrate Christmas in style

Christmas, in the sumptuous setting of an illuminated castle, is a magical family outing. The castles of Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau are adorned with marvelous Christmas decorations and the illuminations of the parks as well as the interior rooms constitute a magnificent festive spectacle. These castles think of children, even the smallest ones, with various tales and animations.  

The King's Journey at the Palace of Versailles: a show in period costume

  • On the occasion of the end of the year celebrations, the Palace of Versailles proposes a visit of the Hall of Mirrors and the Grands Appartements.
  • Le Parcours du Roi is a show with actors, dancers, singers and baroque musicians.
  • You will discover the Salon d'Hercule, the King's bedroom and the Hall of Mirrors during a baroque music and ballet show.
  • The idea is to recreate the atmosphere of the court as it must have been at the time of the Sun King.
  • A unique moment in the exceptional setting of the Château de Versailles.

Vaux-le-Vicomte celebrates Christmas

  • The castle of Vaux le Vicomte celebrates Christmas, and it's very beautiful!
  • The castle, the gardens, the crew museum, the different courtyards? the whole domain is decorated for Christmas and wonderfully illuminated.
  • This year, a monumental video is projected on the façade of the castle. This sound and light show retraces the creation and history of the castle since the 17th century.
  • A majestic avenue of illuminated fir trees adorns the entrance to the castlelike a magic path?
  • The whole castle is decorated with Christmas colors.
  • In the gardens, children up to 6 years old are offered a PAPO surprise gift, and children from 7 to 17 years old leave with a chocolate cookie from Maison Fossier.

Practical information :

  • Christmas at Vaux-le-Vicomte is every day from December 23 to January 5. From 11am to 6:45pm. Last access 5:15 pm.
  • Closed on December 25 and January 1.
  • Free for children under 6 years old. Children from 6 to 17 years old.
  • The ticket includes access to the decorated castle, the French garden, and the Crew Museum.
