Illuminations, shows, animations to celebrate Christmas with pomp and circumstance.

Christmas, in the sumptuous setting of an illuminated castle, is a magical family outing.The castles of Versailles, Vaux-le-Vicomte and Fontainebleau are adorned with marvellous Christmas decorations and the illuminations of the parks and the interior rooms are a magnificent festive spectacle. These castles think of children, even small ones, with a variety of stories and activities.  

The King's Tour at the Palace of Versailles: show in period costumes

  • On the occasion of the holiday season, the Palace of Versailles proposes a visit of the Hall of Mirrors and the Grands Appartements.
  • Le Parcours du Roi is a show with actors, dancers, singers and baroque musicians.
  • You will discover the Salon d'Hercule, the King's bedroom and the Hall of Mirrors during a baroque music and ballet show.
  • The idea is to recreate the courtly atmosphere as it must have been in the Sun King's time.
  • A unique moment in the exceptional setting of the Château de Versailles.

Vaux-le-Vicomte christmas party

  • The castle of Vaux le Vicomte celebrates Christmas, and it's beautiful!
  • The castle, the gardens, the museum of the crews, the different courtyards... the whole estate is decorated for Christmas and wonderfully illuminated.
  • This year, a monumental video is projected on the façade of the castle. This sound and light retraces the creation and history of the castle since the 17th century.
  • A majestic alley of illuminated fir trees decorates the entrance of the castle.like a magical path...
  • The whole castle is decorated in Christmas colours.
  • In the gardens, children up to the age of 6 receive a PAPO surprise gift, and children aged 7 to 17 leave with a chocolate biscuit from Maison Fossier.

  • Christmas in Vaux-le Vicomte, it's every day from December 23rd to January 5th. 11:00 to 6:45. Last access 5:15.
  • Closed on December 25th and January 1st.
  • Free for children under 6 years of age, children's rate from 6 to 17 years of age.
  • The ticket includes access to the decorated castle, the French garden, and the Crew Museum.
