Paris as you’ve never seen it before !
Between swimming in the Seine and Paris Plages, “The Origins of Paris” puts the Seine back at the center of history!
On the program: a 1.2 km outdoor course punctuated by time capsules in VR, to rediscover Paris as you have never seen it before!
The principle is simple: during about fifteen stops chosen by your guide on the route, you will have to put on your virtual reality headset to discover a completely different Paris
And… Surprise! The current streets are gradually fading away to make way for faithful reconstructions of the Paris of yesteryear. The experience is enriched by an immersive soundscape and historical content validated by specialists.
The visit lasts one hour. It begins under the Pont Louis-Philippe (Right Bank, 4th) and ends at the Pont-Neuf, along the Seine.
Absolutely striking, this unique visit has all the advantages of a rediscovery of the Seine. History lovers or not, the walk will delight everyone and children from 8 years old!
A journey through time in the heart of the Île de la Cité
During this walk, you will relive the major stages of the history of Paris :
- Meeting the Parisii, in the third century BC
- The Gallo-Roman era with the remains of Lutetia, its thermal baths, its forum, its amphitheatre
- The first bridges, floating markets and the emergence of the medieval city
- The siege of Paris by the Vikings and their famous longships
- As an echo of current events: the construction of Notre-Dame Cathedral in the twelfth century
- The construction of the Pont-Neuf, the oldest bridge still standing in Paris
- And the great events of the modern era:
- The French Revolution
- The Eiffel Tower construction site
- The arrival of public lighting
