Paris Plages 2025, in the colours of Brazil 🇧🇷!

The 23rd edition of Paris Plages is part of the France-Brazil cultural season!

Paris Plages is deckchairs and palm trees in the heart of the capital. Head for the Parc Rives de Seine, from the Port of Solférino to the Pont Marie. Every day, a variety of activities are offered, for young and old alike. Ideal when the weather is nice in Paris!

But Paris Plages 2025 is also a real seaside resort. At the Bassin de la Villette (quai de la Seine, quai de la Loire), there is a water sports centre and swimming areas. Outdoor and ephemeral swimming pools are also installed along the Canal Saint-Martin and in other places.

NEW IN 2025!

For the first time, you will be able to swim in the Seine! A 100-year-old promise made possible thanks to the Paris 2024 Olympics. From the end of June, new spots will be accessible for river swimming :

  • Le Bras Marie (between the Île Saint-Louis and the quai de l’Hôtel de Ville)
  • Le Bras de Grenelle (Paris 15th)
  • The Quai de Bercy (Paris 12th)

These swimming areas will be supervised and equipped for the public.

White sand, relaxation and sports but also entertainment, exhibitions, concerts and workshops will be on the agenda to celebrate Brazil, still on the banks of the Seine, at La Villette and now also at the Canal Saint-Martin. Paris Plages, a nice idea when you’re wondering what you’re going to do in Paris this weekend and what’s more, it’s free !

The Paris Plages 2025 festivities: Brazil in the spotlight

  • Brazilian activities for 2 months: film screenings, batucadas, DJ set and participatory workshops
  • As in Brazil, there is a large sandy beach on the banks of the Seine
  • Three sports fields on the square in front of the City Hall in the urban jungle
  • For gastronomy, it will be food market Brasil and finger food

Contemporary Scene and Brazilian Heritage

  • The opening weekend will crown an Arranged Ball on Saturday 5 July in the colours of Brazil
  • Photographic exhibitions by Joao Farkas and Luis Braga, among others
  • A tribute to King Pelé will mark the route of Paris Plages: long live football!

  • The Parc Rives de Seine stretches from the Pont des Arts to the Pont de Sully with an exceptional view of the Louvre or the Musée d’Orsay to the Ile Saint-Louis.
  • Deckchairs, parasols, palm trees, misters for a seaside atmosphere…
  • There are also play and relaxation areas on the banks and a variety of activities depending on the schedule: petanque and table football, Swedish gym, yoga, tai chi or introduction to salsa dance, tango, etc.
  • New ! Opening this year of an open water swimming area (supervised) on the side of the Bras Marie between the Ile Saint-Louis and the Quai de l’Hôtel de Ville
  • In this same area, it is on the nautical base that you can practice canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding and take your first boat
  • You have to stroll, stroll along the quays, enjoy the freshness of one of the many lawns, have a drink on a wooden terrace.
  • Or sit down with a book or a comic book borrowed on the spot

Paris Plages at the Canal Saint-Martin (10th)

  • Tested during the Olympics, swimming in the Canal Saint-Martin is back
  • Located at the level of the Bichat footbridge, Récollets basin between 116 and 126 quai de Jemmapes
  • Don’t panic, the locks will be closed to boat traffic and it will not be possible to jump from the footbridges
  • On the other hand, a pontoon will be installed as well as deckchairs for idleness
  • For the stroll, there will be an exhibition, and concerts often improvised in this very friendly and lively Parisian corner all year round
  • Mandatory showers after swimming at the Jemmapes sports center where you will find changing rooms
  • For safety: water quality control and swimwear mandatory
  • Children under 10 years old (or 120cm) must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The pool will be limited to 300 people

Paris Plages at the Bassin de la Villette

  • The Bassin de la Villette is located on the Quai de Loire (Jaurès, Stalingrad or Laumière metro stations)
  • During the summer, the Bassin de la Villette is transformed into a real free water sports centre, with swimming areas and water sports: canoeing, kayak polo, stand up paddle, pedal boats, pedal boats, small boats (for the little ones)
  • A carousel ride (free) set up for children from 5 to 12 years old
  • A Kids Club offers fun activities: zip line for 7-17 year olds, climbing wall and educational workshops
  • But also supervised sports activities : beach volly in tournaments, introduction to hip-hop and in the evening: guinguette atmosphere with balls and dance evenings
  • And a comic book library with manga, children’s series…
  • Paris Plage at the Bassin de la Villette is 4 pools of more than 1600m² of different depths, and 2 paddling pools (fun pools) with a depth of 0.4 m and 100 m² for accompanied children
  • There are cabins, showers and toilets with free access, as well as changing rooms, lockers, deckchairs and umbrellas
  • Decent swimwear is mandatory and a beanie
  • The swimming area, which is supervised, is limited to 500 people per day, and its water is controlled
  • For visitors looking for refreshments, don’t panic, refreshment stands and ice cream parlours are on site to the delight of all
  • Please note that children under 10 years old must be accompanied

Remember to take your swimming cap, it is mandatory in all swimming places, even in the Seine! Open at the beginning of July until August 31, 2025

  • In the 15th – Grenelle swimming – Port de Beaugrenelle – just opposite the Île aux Cygnes, close to the Beaugrenelle Centre
  • In the 12th – Swimming Quai de Bercy – Port de Bercy – on either side of the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge and opposite the François Mitterrand National Library
  • In the 4th – Swimming in the Bras Marie, on the edge of the Île Saint-Louis
