Nice when it’s very hot and very nice in July and August

What could be better than a little dip to cool off when it’s a heat wave in Paris or when it’s just hot … There are of course the Parisian swimming pools, but to feel a little on holiday, we advise you to discover theoutdoor swimming pools of the capital. Another idea to cool the children down: parks with water games.

For several summers, Paris Baignade has been the free summer swimming program. In July and August, take advantage of the free facilities of the City of Paris! They attract families, teenagers, adults and even tourists all summer long. Swimming, water games, sunbathing and relaxation to feel like you’re on holiday!

  • A 150m2 above-ground pool has been installed for the summer
  • It is free for families (some time slots are reserved for leisure centres)

A 100-year-old promise made possible thanks to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, new spots will be accessible for swimming :

Swimming in the Seine: the 3 spots

  1. At the Pont Louis Philippe (Paris Centre), under the bridge itself. Hours: 8am-6pm
  2. Quai de Bercy (Paris 12th), located opposite the Bibliothèque nationale de France (13th), on either side of the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge, just below the Parc de Bercy (12th). Opening hours: 11am-9pm, every day
  3. At the Bras de Grenelle, family swimming (Paris 15th), facing the Île aux Cygnes (7th) and the Statue of Liberty, a stone’s throw from the Eiffel Tower (7th). Opening hours: 10am-5:30pm (4:45pm on Saturdays)

These swimming areas will be supervised and equipped for the public.

White sand, relaxation and sports but also entertainment, exhibition, concert and workshops to celebrate summer and America, always on the banks of the Seine, at La Villette and the Canal Saint-Martin. Paris Plages, a nice idea when it’s hot you wonder what you’re going to do in Paris this weekend and what’s more , it’s free !

Swimming is allowed in the event of a heatwave. A well-limited and supervised area allows you to enjoy a small swim to cool off between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the canal. The quality of the water is of course checked every day.
