Signac, les harmonies colorées, une exposition joyeuse et accessible à tous
- An exhibition to discover or re-discover the painter Paul Signac (1863 – 1935), considered the main theoretician of Neo-Impressionism
- The exhibition presents 25 paintings by Paul Signac, accompanied by paintings by Seurat, Pissarro, Cross … i.e. a set of about 70 “neo-impressionist” works that are exhibited on the occasion of this retrospective
- The exhibition is chronological and allows us to understand the evolution of the painter. Initially inspired by the Impressionists (a strong influence from Monet), Signac evolved towards colour and pointillism
- He is recognized as a precursor of the movements to come after him: pointillism, Fauvism, and even abstract art
- Children should appreciate this exhibition which has the advantage of not being too long (the exhibitions at the Jacquemart André Museum are always quite short) and which presents paintings that are very accessible through its subjects and the treatment of colour
- And don’t miss out on this exhibition to discover the magnificent Jacquemart André mansion, which alone is worth a visit. The Jacquemart-André collection is spectacular (Botticelli, Tiepolo, Caravaggio, Canaletto… for the Italian painters, Fragonard, Boucher, Chardin… for French works, Rembrandt for Flemish works…) And the late 19th century apartments of the mansion can also be visited for our greatest pleasure.
- It is possible to organize a family visit to the Jacquemart André Museum (private tour)
At the Jacquemart André Museum
- The Parc Monceau (ideal after visiting the exhibition!)
- The Nissim de Camondo Museum (one of our favorite museums in Paris)
- The Cernuschi Museum (small museum dedicated to Asian art)
- The Champs-Elysées
