The Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art

The Fondation Cartier, newly established opposite the Louvre, has been exhibiting artists from all walks of life since 1984. In this magnificent building redesigned by the architect Jean Nouvel, the Foundation makes contemporary creation accessible while also addressing children in particular. Built up over the years, its collection reflects the field of the arts and the issues of today

On an area of 8500m2 accessible to the public, the Fondation Cartier creates bridges through permanent and renewed cultural mediation, exhibitions, workshops for children, meetings and performances.

The program? Fun trails, architectural explorations and unusual visits between the visual arts, photography, cinema, crafts and live performance!

Currently: “General Exhibition”

Until August 23, 2026

“Exposition Générale” unveils the artistic identity of the Fondation Cartier, and its heritage, through nearly 600 works by more than 100 artists who have punctuated its programme from 1984 to the present day – Visits, workshops and activities for young audiences – not to mention the Night of the Museums
