The exhibition that celebrates Impressionism

“Monet, painting time“

At the Musée de l’Orangerie

Organized on the occasion of the centenary of Claude Monet’s death, this exhibition brings together nearly forty masterpieces to explore the notion of time through Monet’s work.

Capturing the moment

The journey tells us about the rise of the railway and the acceleration of a time when public clocks multiplied… Monet sought to freeze the immediacy of a sensation in the face of this feeling of speed. This was Impressionism!

Around 1880, he broke down time through his famous series such as millstones or cathedrals. Tirelessly, he declined the passage of hours and seasons through the repetition of the same subject

Water Lilies does not wither

This beautiful exhibition culminates in immersion with the Water Lilies cycle. In his garden in Giverny, Monet no longer measures time, but contemplates it….

As a family, it will be a matter of catching time with the children! Don’t forget to book quickly for All Saints’ Day and the Christmas holidays
