Built at the end of the twelfth century, the Chateau de Vincennes is the only French royal residence dating from the Middle Ages that still retains its original appearance. A visit to the castle allows you to see the castle, the Royal Chapel, the ramparts, the moat and the keep.<\/strong> Nevertheless, it is better to be warned, all the rooms of the castle are empty. Visit the Ch\u00e2teau de Vincennes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A royal residence from the twelfth to the eighteenth century, a visit to the Ch\u00e2teau de Vincennes allows you to understand daily life in the Middle Ages<\/strong>, as well as the life of the guards and prisoners incarcerated in the keep<\/strong>. We remember the affair of the Duke of Enghien and discover the famous prisoners who “stayed” at the Ch\u00e2teau de Vincennes<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To visit the Ch\u00e2teau de Vincennes and its keep, it is better to be in good shape: no less than 250 steps to climb to the top<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the tallest fortified tower in Europe and is where Henry V of England died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, in December<\/strong>, don’t miss the Enchanteurs de Vincennes<\/a>, a parade and great medieval show that brings together a hundred participants. An ideal outing with children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sainte-Chapelle de Vincennes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Founded in 1379, on the model of the Sainte-chapelle in Paris<\/a>, the one in Vincennes is nevertheless much more sober. It remains an interesting monument and family visits are organized to discover the Sainte Chapelle (from 5 years old). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
