WHAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ACT REQUIRES

A law should normally come into force in the fall of 2019 to regulate the use of electric scooters in Paris. • Sidewalks are prohibited to electric scooters since January 2019
  • Obligation touse bike paths
  • If there are no bike lanes, you must borrow roads limited to 50 km / h
  • If you use the sidewalks, it is motor off and scooter hand

CHILDREN AND ELECTRIC TROTTINETTES

  • The required age to drive an electric scooter is 8 years old
  • Children are not allowed to ride on an adult's scooter
  • Helmets are mandatory for children under 12 years old (as for the bike)

  • A fine of 135 € if you ride on the sidewalks
  • A fine of 35 € for non-compliance with the law
