  • Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Mirabeau, Madame du Barry, Bailly, Sieyès, Lafayette they were all there.

The team

After more than 7 years in historical tourism in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles, "the Revolution Tour Versailles" was created by history lovers.

With their historical anecdotes, they will immerse you in this exciting period of French history.

Be the actors of this guided tour

You too are expected in Versailles for the opening of the Estates-General. Come and discover the route of the deputies of 1789 thanks to a game card and your flair to guide you.

Several historical scenes are to be replayed If you are a gambler or a gifted speaker, you can read short sketches from the parliamentary archives.

You can thus take up the words of Louis XVI at the opening of the Estates-General; those of Mirabeau to Dreux-Brézé on June 23: "go and tell those who send you, that we are here by the will of the people...".

A journey through time and a complete immersion in the beginning of the French Revolution.

Our opinion on this visit

Telling the story of the French Revolution to children and teenagers and making them revise their history program in a fun and lively way.

A historical stroll in the beautiful city of Versailles, which is aimed at history lovers or those in the making...

At the end of the visit, you will leave with a map of Versailles from the 1815 period (with the main places of the revolution) or a reproduction of an engraving from the period.

The course

  • The visit starts in front of the Château de Versailles, Place d'Armesand then takes you to the Menus Plaisirs hotel where the opening of the Estates General took place on May 5, 1789, the proclamation of the National Assembly on June 17 and the abolition of privileges on the night of August 4 to 5, and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, on August 26, 1789
  • Then the visit leads you successively to the Jeu de Paume roomwhere the deputies swore to give France a constitution on June 20, 1789, and then at the Place Saint-Louis place for discussions and working meetings.
  • The tour ends where the story began, Place d'Armes (in front of the Palace of Versailles), where the royal family left on October 6, 1789. You arrived in May and leave in October...

A very interesting visit that immerses us in history and the Revolution. Seeing the places and following the paths taken in 1789 makes for a fascinating immersion. The narratives are easy to follow and in-depth... Thank you. My granddaughter (13) has rediscovered her history lessons with much more detail and reflection. She's delighted. We're talking about this visit around us. Many thanks to Baptiste for his availability and warm welcome. It would be great if tickets could be sent out without having to ask for them.

We meet at 10 a.m. at Place d'Armes, where we'll learn about the major historical moments and immerse ourselves in the era (with lots of anecdotes and humor to make the tour accessible and fun!)! Then it's off on a 2-hour hunt for clues, with a nice surprise at the end. A superb experience for the whole family, exciting for young and old alike. We also bought a ticket to the château to complete the tour - I recommend it!
